The situation

What has happened

The school holidays start next week and the kennels and cattery are at 94 per cent occupancy. The Boarding and Grooming Bookings system holds several requests that have not been confirmed, one because the vaccination certificate has not arrived. Animals arriving on Monday include a cat on daily thyroid medication, an anxious border collie and a bonded pair of cats booked for a fortnight. The grooming salon has a matted labradoodle booked and the puppy preschool runs on Tuesday evening. The supervisor wants every arrival planned, every feeding and medication sheet ready and every enclosure set up before the weekend.

Your brief. Work through the bookings, confirm only those that meet the vaccination rule, prepare feeding, medication and enrichment plans for each arriving animal, set up enclosures and communicate clearly with clients, so that the peak period runs safely and every animal's needs are met.

What to look for

Evidence guide

Check that the student refused to confirm the booking without a sighted vaccination certificate, that feeding and medication sheets are accurate and specific, that enrichment and monitoring are planned for every animal rather than in general terms, and that the groom plan includes owner consent and a health check. Hazard entries must be specific to the site.

The student's evidence summary lists every record they created or changed in the systems named above, their notes and the tasks they ticked. Verify it against the deliverables and your own assessment tool.
